Taking charge of your body and health with conscious effort and precision are the principles espoused and embodied by Joseph Pilates. Pilates helps release tension, reeducate movement patterns, and develop a balanced body that is toned, flexible, and strong. It specifically targets the abdominal muscles in every exercise, reprogramming the body to initiate all movements from a strong center. Pilates work simultaneously lengthens and strengthens your muscles, which in turn decompresses your joints and spine leading to improved health and vigor. We all want a good-looking, healthy body that can handle the demands of our daily life with what Joseph Pilates called “spontaneous zest and pleasure”.
